Jammu: Doda Bhaderwah Warriors defeated Banihal Kites by 44 runs, Jammu Sultans secured a walkover against Poonch Badshahs, while Jammu Panthers thrashed Jammu Swords by 97 runs in the YSS–JKSC Cricket League matches played at MA Stadium here on Wednesday.
In the first match, Doda Bhaderwah Warriors posted a competitive 174/6 in 20 overs after electing to bat. Sid starred with the bat, smashing an impressive 91 off 56 balls to anchor the innings. Shubam Sharma contributed 23 runs, while Kewal Kotwal added a quick 15 off just 7 balls to boost the total.
For Banihal Kites, Khan Ussama was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs in four overs, while Haris Mir chipped in with two wickets.
Chasing a target of 175, Banihal Kites failed to build momentum and were bowled out for 130 in 18.2 overs. Amir Lefty top-scored with 42 off 24 balls, while Basit Wani added 28 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled.
Kewal Kotwal delivered a match-winning bowling spell for the Warriors, picking up 4 wickets for 24 runs in 3.2 overs. Ajeet Kumar also impressed with figures of 2/26 as the Warriors secured a comfortable 44-run victory.
In the second match, Jammu Sultans were awarded a walkover against Poonch Badshahs.
In the third match, Jammu Panthers produced a dominant all-round performance to register a commanding 97-run win over Jammu Swords.
Batting first, the Panthers posted a formidable 216/6 in 20 overs. Skipper A.N. Ahanger led the charge with a blistering 67 off just 27 balls, hitting nine fours and three sixes. Wicketkeeper-batsman Atul supported him well with a fluent 60 off 39 balls.
Ahmed Farooq contributed a quick 29 from 18 deliveries, while Puneet Kumar added late impetus with an unbeaten 22 off 8 balls.
For Jammu Swords, Abhinav, Vimarsh Kaw and Vicky picked up two wickets each.
Chasing a daunting target of 217, Jammu Swords managed only 119/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Vicky and Ali were the top scorers with 24 runs each.
Deep was the standout bowler for the Panthers, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs in four overs. Varun Kumar, Showkat Ahmad, Deepak Manhas and A.N. Ahanger also claimed a wicket each as the Panthers sealed a convincing victory.
