Jammu: District Magistrate Jammu, Rakesh Minhas, has banned the transportation of bovine animals—including cows, buffaloes, oxen, bulls and calves—from Jammu district to other districts without prior permission.
The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), states that no bovine animals shall be transported outside the district unless written permission is obtained from the District Magistrate or the Additional District Magistrate, Jammu, and in accordance with conditions imposed by the administration from time to time.
According to the order, the restriction has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for a period of two months from the date of issuance or until it is withdrawn earlier.
The order further states that any person found violating the directive will be liable for action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
