Srinagar: Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, on Monday visited schools in the remote Mir Behri area of Dal Lake to review their functioning following the reopening after winter vacation, interacting with students and teachers while emphasising the need to strengthen elementary education and intensify field-level monitoring across the Valley.
During the visit, the Director inspected Government Boys Middle School Moti Mohalla, Dal Kalan and other nearby institutions. He warmly welcomed the students by distributing sweets and flower garlands, creating a cheerful atmosphere on the first days after reopening.
The Director interacted with young students and enquired about their activities during the winter break. He also held discussions with the teaching staff and emphasised that many students in the area belong to economically weaker sections, and urged teachers to extend additional academic attention and guidance to support their learning.
On the occasion, the Director stressed the importance of strengthening elementary education to ensure strong academic foundations for students across the Kashmir Division.
He further directed Chief Education Officers (CEOs), Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Cluster Heads across the Kashmir Division to undertake regular field visits, interact with students and teachers and closely monitor the academic functioning of schools in their respective jurisdictions to ensure quality education at the grassroots level.
