Secretary JKAACL Harvinder Kour inaugurated the painting camp. In her address, she said the initiative aims to highlight the various dimensions of women’s lives through creative art and provide a platform for women artists to express their thoughts, experiences and perspectives through painting.

She noted that such programmes help promote artistic talent and encourage meaningful dialogue through visual expression, while strengthening the region’s cultural landscape.

Kour also appreciated the participation of prominent women artists in the camp and expressed confidence that their creative works would reflect the spirit of the theme.

Among others present on the occasion were Additional Secretaries of the Academy Sonali Arun Gupta and Lal Chand, and Chief Editor Javaid Rahi.

Artists participating in the camp include Preeti Sharma, Suman Chib, Mahua Gupta, Shruti Arora, Deepa Soni, Malti Sharma, Bhawna Sharma, Dimple Sharma (Basohli) and Reenu Manhotra.

During the three-day camp, the participating artists will create artworks reflecting the theme, culminating in a display of paintings celebrating the strength, emotions and diverse experiences of women through art.
