Commissioner SMC reviews infrastructure and civic service delivery

SRINAGAR: Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb, conducted an extensive inspection of municipal assets at Tibetan Colony, Eidgah, and Devi Angan, Badam Wari, to review the status of civic infrastructure and assess the management, maintenance, and utilisation of public facilities.

During his visit to the Tibetan Colony, Eidgah, the Commissioner undertook a comprehensive review of municipal infrastructure, including sanitation arrangements, drainage networks, and waste management operations. He evaluated the performance of field-level services and directed concerned officials to ensure sustained cleanliness, improved operational efficiency, and prompt resolution of civic grievances raised by residents.

At Devi Angan, Badam Wari, the Commissioner inspected the municipal asset and reviewed its maintenance standards, operational functionality, and potential for enhanced public utilisation. Emphasising the importance of safeguarding public infrastructure, he instructed officials to maintain the facility strictly in accordance with municipal norms and to maximise its effective use for community benefit.

Highlighting the importance of regular on-ground monitoring, the Commissioner reiterated SMC’s commitment to strengthening urban governance through improved infrastructure management, enhanced accountability, and responsive civic administration.

Senior officers and officials of Srinagar Municipal Corporation accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
