Srinagar: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Naseer Ahmad Wani, on Monday visited several schools in Anantnag, Kulgam and Pulwama districts to welcome students at the start of the new academic session and encourage them under the declared “Year of Academic Excellence-2026”.
Wani attended the morning assembly at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bijbehara in Anantnag district, where he joined students and staff in the morning prayer and wished them success in the academic year. He also greeted students with flowers and small gifts as a gesture of encouragement.
Interacting with students, the Director enquired about their winter vacation activities and urged them to begin the session with renewed focus and discipline. He said the morning assembly is not merely a routine exercise but a moment of collective reflection and commitment towards academic goals.
Continuing his outreach programme, Wani visited Higher Secondary School Nihama in Kulgam and later Higher Secondary School Letpora in Pulwama, where he interacted with students and staff and encouraged students to set clear academic targets. He assured them of full institutional support from the department.
Reaffirming the department’s commitment, the Director said the collective efforts of teachers, students, parents and administrators would be crucial in making 2026 a landmark year for educational improvement across the Kashmir division.
