Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in separate operations in Pulwama and Shopian and seized “substantial” quantities of contraband substances from their possession.
Police intercepted a vehicle (JK13J-1331) at Gudoora Crossing in Pulwama and recovered approximately 750 grams of cannabis powder-like substance from its driver Mudasir Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Mohidin Malik of Tahab. He was arrested and the vehicle seized.
A drug peddler identified as Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Rakhi Shilwat Sumbal Bandipora was arrested at Gudoora crossing after approximately 137.5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession, police said.
In Shopian, a police raided the house of Bashir Ahmad Dar at Vishroo Payeen Keller and recovered 1.880 kgs of cannabis and another 8.570 kgs of cannabis-like substance from there. The accused was arrested on spot.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations initiated in all these instances.
