DDC Chairpersons meet LG Sinha, discuss district development issues

Jammu: A delegation of District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons on Tuesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed various development issues concerning their respective districts.

The delegation included Col. Mahan Singh (Retd.), Chairman DDC Kathua; Keshav Dutt Sharma, Chairman DDC Samba; Lal Chand, Chairman DDC Udhampur; Saraf Singh Nag, Chairman DDC Reasi; Dhanantar Singh Kotwal, Chairman DDC Doda; Pooja Thakur, Chairperson DDC Kishtwar; Dr Shamshad Shan, Chairperson DDC Ramban; and Advocate Naseem Liaqat, Chairman DDC Rajouri.

During the meeting, the representatives raised matters related to local development and public welfare in their districts and sought administrative support for the effective implementation of ongoing projects. The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that their concerns would be examined and appropriate steps taken for expeditious redressal.

Meanwhile, a delegation of traders led by Dr Sanjay Bansal, Member of the National Traders Welfare Board and National President of the Federation of Trade & Industry of India (FTII), called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

The delegation discussed issues concerning the trading community and matters related to the welfare and development of business sectors in the Union Territory.

Meanwhile, former minister R.S. Chib also met the Lieutenant Governor during the day.
