Jal Shakti Minister reviews CAPEX works in Kashmir Division

JAMMU: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today reviewed the progress on CAPEX works of Jal Shakti Department for the financial year 2025–26 in Kashmir Division.

The Minister undertook a detailed assessment of the physical and financial status of ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS) and examined their implementation progress. He emphasized the importance of timely completion, transparent execution and strict adherence to quality standards to ensure that the projects deliver maximum benefit to the public.

The Minister directed the concerned officers to expedite project execution, remove bottlenecks and ensure that all targeted works under the 2025–26 CAPEX plan are completed within stipulated timelines. He emphasised that the efficient implementation of water supply projects is crucial for improving service delivery and meeting the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Reiterating Omar government’s commitment towards strengthening the public infrastructure, Rana called for regular monitoring, effective coordination and accountability at all levels. He stressed that the officers must work with renewed focus to achieve the desired outcomes and enhance the quality of life for citizens.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Kashmir, Director Planning, Jal Shakti Department, Director Finance and Executive Engineers of Kashmir Division.
