GULMARG: The Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) successfully concluded its third 14-day Snow Skiing Course for the 2025–26 training season, with a graduation ceremony held here.

The course drew enthusiastic participation from skiing aspirants across the country, reaffirming IISM’s role in promoting winter sports and professional skiing training in India.

Major General Puneet Doval, SM, Commandant, High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 89 candidates from different parts of India completed the course, including 65 participants in the Basic course, 17 in the Intermediate course, and 7 in the Advanced course. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the successful candidates by the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Major General Doval congratulated the students on their achievement and urged them to pursue excellence with determination and discipline. He noted that while parents may provide comfort and support, lasting success is built through personal effort, resilience, and hard work. Emphasising the broader role of institutions like IISM, he said such training centres not only impart professional skills but also help in shaping character, discipline, and mental strength—qualities that serve individuals throughout their lives.

The successful completion of the course once again highlighted IISM’s continued commitment to nurturing talent and maintaining high standards of training in snow skiing and winter sports in the country.
