SRINAGAR: In view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan, on Monday, conducted an extensive inspection of all associated hospitals to assess healthcare preparedness and ensure uninterrupted patient services. She was accompanied by Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak.
The inspection covered SMHS Hospital, Super Speciality Hospital Shireen Bagh, Lalla Ded (LD) Hospital, Chest Disease Hospital, Bone and Joint Hospital, Children Hospital Bemina, Psychiatry Hospital, SDH Block Hazratbal, Kashmir Nursing Home, UG/PG hostels, Nursing Hospital GMC Srinagar and other allied facilities.
During the visit, Prof. Iffat reviewed the readiness of healthcare infrastructure and directed Medical Superintendents to ensure the availability of essential medicines, uninterrupted emergency services, functional critical care units, and adequate staff deployment. She stressed that there would be zero tolerance for any lapse in patient care, particularly during harsh weather conditions.
Administrator Mohammad Ashraf Hakak assured full administrative and logistical support, stating that all departments have been placed on high alert to effectively respond to any exigency arising from the weather situation.
Medical Superintendents informed the Principal that all essential facilities are in place and adequate manpower has been deployed to ensure seamless healthcare delivery.
Personnel Officer Bashir Ahmad Bhat and other officers also accompanied the Principal/Dean during the inspection.
