JAMMU: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit across the Jammu Division amid elaborate security arrangements. Flag hoisting ceremonies, ceremonial march-pasts, band performances and vibrant cultural programmes marked the celebrations at district headquarters, sub-divisional, tehsil and block levels, reflecting effective coordination by district administrations.
Doda: The main function was held at Sports Stadium Doda, where DDC Chairperson Dhananter Singh Kotwal unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at an impressive march-past by contingents of CRPF, SSB, J&K Police, JKAP, Home Guards, NCC and students. Addressing the gathering, he paid tributes to martyrs, highlighted achievements in road connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism promotion and welfare initiatives, and lauded the district administration’s efforts. Colourful cultural performances showcasing regional diversity added vibrancy to the celebrations.
Bhaderwah: At New Bus Stand Bhaderwah, ADC Sunil Kumar Bhutyal unfurled the Tricolour and took the salute at the march-past presented by J&K Armed Police, NCC and school students. Senior officers and citizens participated in the celebrations.
Udhampur: The district-level function was held at Government PG Degree College Boys, where DDC Chairperson Lal Chand unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade. Highlighting development, he referred to major infrastructure projects including NH-244, PMGSY road connectivity, GMC Udhampur, Mission YUVA and agricultural support schemes. Similar functions were organised across subdivisions and tehsils, including Ramnagar.
Ramban: At District Police Lines Ramban, DDC Chairperson Dr. Shamshad Shan unfurled the Tricolour and took the salute of contingents from J&K Police, CRPF, IRP, Home Guards, NCC and students. She highlighted progress under District Capex, PMAY-G, health, education, power and Jal Shakti sectors, and appreciated public harmony. Cultural programmes and felicitation of achievers marked the event.
Kishtwar: The main celebration was held at the Mini Secretariat, where DDC Chairperson Pooja Thakur unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the march-past. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted developmental works, social welfare schemes, enhanced power capacity and support to vulnerable sections. Republic Day was also celebrated across courts, police lines, sub-divisions and educational institutions.
Samba: At Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium, DDC Chairperson Keshav Dutt Sharma unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at an impressive parade by security forces, NCC, veterans and students. Cultural programmes showcasing patriotism and national integration were presented, followed by the felicitation of performers.
Rajouri: The main function was held at DPL Ground, where DDC Chairperson Advocate Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat unfurled the Tricolour and took the salute. He highlighted ongoing development in infrastructure, healthcare, education and youth employment, while cultural performances and a felicitation ceremony marked the occasion.
Reasi: At General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at a march-past by 21 contingents. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted developmental initiatives, disaster response measures and public welfare programmes. Tableaux by government departments and cultural performances added colour to the celebrations.
Similar Republic Day functions were held across all sub-divisions, tehsils and institutions of the Jammu Division, with officials unfurling the National Flag and citizens participating with patriotic fervour.
