Secretary DLSA Srinagar convenes meeting on “Mediation for the Nation 2.0”

SRINAGAR: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, today organised a meeting of trained mediators and panel lawyers which was convened by the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, at ADR Centre, District Court Complex, Srinagar, to review and strengthen the implementation of the national initiative “Mediation for the Nation 2.0.”

During the meeting, the Secretary, DLSA Srinagar emphasized the vital role of mediation in providing speedy, cost-effective, and amicable resolution of disputes, thereby reducing the burden on courts and promoting access to justice. The trained mediators and panel lawyers were sensitized about their responsibilities in identifying suitable cases for mediation and encouraging litigants to opt for alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

The Secretary highlighted the objectives of “Mediation for the Nation 2.0” and stressed the need for coordinated efforts among mediators, panel lawyers, and judicial institutions to ensure its effective implementation at the district level. Interactive discussions were held to address practical challenges and to share best practices for successful mediation.

The meeting concluded with a call to actively promote mediation among litigants and the general public, reaffirming DLSA Srinagar’s commitment to strengthening the culture of mediation as an integral part of the justice delivery system
