Sakeena Itoo virtually lays foundation stone for DIET Centre of Excellence at Kulgam

KULGAM: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, today virtually laid the foundation stone of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Centre of Excellence at Kulgam, marking a significant step towards strengthening teacher education and academic infrastructure in the district.

MLA Kulgam, M.Y Tarigami; Project Director Samagra, Bhawani Rakwal; Director School Education Kashmir, other senior officers of school education department and district administration Kulgam were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the government’s commitment towards enhancing the quality of education by upgrading institutional facilities and promoting the professional development of teachers. She said that the DIET Centre of Excellence will play a pivotal role in capacity building, training and continuous professional support for teachers, ultimately benefiting students across the district.

The Minister highlighted that the new DIET campus will be equipped with modern infrastructure and academic resources aimed at fostering innovation, research, and best practices in pedagogy. She added that investment in teacher education is fundamental to achieving long-term educational reforms and improving learning outcomes.

MLA Kulgam, M.Y Tarigami also addressed the gathering on the occasion virtually. He added that it’s the commitment of the Government to upgrade infrastructure, adding that upgrading educational standards leads to overall development of the society.
