Srinagar: MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, is organising the National Voters’ Day Padyatra – Sundays on Cycle–2026 on January 25, 2026, in Srinagar.

The aim of the programme is to maximise youth participation in the democratic process under the theme “MY Bharat, MY Vote.”

The Padyatra – Sundays on Cycle will act as a visible and participatory platform to spread voter awareness through collective civic action. Participants include MY Bharat volunteers, youth leaders, and first-time voters. Besides, the event will include felicitation of newly registered voters, voter awareness interactions and pledge-taking ceremonies.

The initiative is part of a nationwide youth mobilisation campaign to promote informed, ethical, and participative electoral engagement, with a special focus on first-time voters.

While addressing a press conference Deputy Director, MY Bharat Srinagar, Pardip Kumar said that youth participation in democratic exercises is central to nation-building. Empowering young citizens with awareness, responsibility, and a sense of ownership in the electoral process strengthens the very foundations of democracy, he stated.

Through this initiative, MY Bharat encourages young people to emerge as ambassadors of democratic values and responsible citizenship, playing an active role in shaping the future of the nation, Kumar further added.

MY Bharat Srinagar has invited young citizens to actively participate in the National Voters’ Day Padyatra – Sundays on Cycle – 2026.
