Leh: Several delegations representing diverse community sections called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat to discuss key regional concerns and development priorities.
A delegation from War Heroes Colony Development Society, in presence of Director Sainik Welfare Department-cum-Secretary Rajya Sainik Board Ladakh, Col (Retd) Lobzang Neema, raised issues pertaining to the War Heroes Colony at Ibex Colony.
Similarly, gardeners working at SKUAST Kashmir sought repatriation to Ladakh.
Representatives from Lamayuru Monastery highlighted renovation needs, while Darchiks village delegate addressed houses damaged during road widening operations.
A women Self-Help Group (SHG) from Martselang, led by Col Varun, apprised the Lt Governor of their biodegradable sanitary pads production initiative.
Goba Ali from Thang, Turtuk, shared various welfare initiatives undertaken for community benefit.
The Lt Governor reiterated UT Administration’s unwavering commitment to comprehensive welfare of Ladakh’s people, emphasising prime focus on quality education, world-class healthcare facilities, enhanced connectivity, and tourism sector development to generate sustainable employment opportunities for locals. He assured time-bound resolution of all genuine representations through coordinated departmental action.
