Power shutdown scheduled by KPDCL on January 22

Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that a planned power shutdown will be observed on January 22, 2026, to facilitate necessary maintenance works on key transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora and 33 KV Wanpoh–Malaknag lines will be carried out, resulting in disruption of power supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Hazratbal, Brakpora, Doonipawa, and adjoining areas from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Similarly, a shutdown of the 33 KV Bemina–Fateh Kadal line and the 33 KV Bemina–Barbarshah line will be observed during the same time period. Due to this, power supply to K.K. Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Car Parking Maisuma, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM on January 22.

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance. KPDCL has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and has sought cooperation from the general public during the shutdown period.
