Srinagar: Police in Shopian arrested one drug peddler and attached another’s vehicle in neighbouring Anantnag district.
A police spokesperson informed that one Aslam Kalas, resident of Devpora, was arrested at Dachnoo Heerpora, after police recovered cannabis-like substance weighing approximately 5 kgs from his possession. A case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Heerpora for investigation, police said.
In Anantnag, police attached property (vehicle) belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler involved in multiple narcotics cases.
Police Station Bijbehara attached a TATA Safari vehicle (JK03C-9999), owned by Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, resident of Gadhanjipora Bijbehara. The accused is a “notorious” drug peddler who has been repeatedly involved in drug trafficking activities. He was recently arrested under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bijbehara, police spokesperson informed.
