BARAMULLA: Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office (DFO), Srinagar, under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in coordination with the District Administration Baramulla, organised PM Vishwakarma Awareness-cum-Capacity Building Programme focusing on Business Development, Financial Literacy, and E-Commerce.
The programme was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain, who highlighted the significance of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in strengthening the livelihoods of Vishwakarma artisans and promoting sustainable self-employment.
On the occasion, Assistant Director MSME, Saheel Alaqband, provided detailed insights into the objectives of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. He stated that the scheme aims to help artisans transform their traditional skills into viable businesses, explore avenues for business growth, and access wider markets. He also emphasized the importance of onboarding artisans onto digital and e-commerce platforms to enhance market reach.
Officials from the banking sector delivered sessions on financial literacy, stressing the importance of sound financial management for small businesses. They also explained various banking services, credit facilities, and digital transaction systems available to artisans.
A comprehensive presentation was delivered on e-commerce platforms, focusing on online marketing strategies and emerging opportunities for artisans in the digital marketplace.
The programme witnessed an encouraging response, with over 100 Vishwakarma artisans participating actively in discussions and interactive sessions.
