Srinagar: Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that Showkat Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani, resident of Wanigam, Pattan, was arrested at a checkpoint at Syed Mohallah Narbal, near Peer Masjid, after 32 grams of cannabis were recovered from his possession. The vehicle (JK05M-8910) he was travelling in was also seized, while a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam, for further investigation.
