Srinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday said it has trapped and detained a Revenue department clerk for demanding and accepting a bribe.
Acting on a written complaint, the about a clerk at Tehsil Office Central Shalteng Srinagar, demanding illegal gratification of ₹2,000 for erasing the complainant’s detention record from the official registers, the ACB after registering a case under section 7 PC Act 1988 at Police Station ACB Srinagar, laid a trap and caught the accused clerk, Laiq Ahmad Nath of Qamarwari Srinagar, red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of from the complainant.
After completing all necessary medico-legal formalities, the accused public servant was taken into custody, ACB said.
