Srinagar: Police in Pulwama and Kulgam districts have informed the general public that on the directions of respective District Magistrates, the use of Virtual Private Network (VPN) services have been temporarily restricted across the districts with immediate effect.

This measure has been taken as a preventive step to ensure public safety, cyber security, and maintenance of law and order. It is aimed at preventing any misuse of VPN services that could hinder lawful monitoring or compromise security, police said.

It said the public is requested to fully comply with the restrictions and refrain from using VPN services on all digital devices during this period. Any violation of these directions will invite strict legal action under applicable laws.
