MLA Gulmarg reviews development works, promotes winter tourism

Tangmarg: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today distributed Blood Pressure machines and Glucometers among ASHA workers at Tangmarg as part of a significant initiative to further strengthen healthcare services at the grassroots level.

The initiative aims to equip ASHA workers with essential medical tools so that basic health facilities are made accessible at people’s doorsteps, particularly in rural and far-flung areas. Addressing the gathering, the MLA lauded the tireless efforts and dedication of ASHA workers and urged them to consider their service as a form of worship.

He emphasized that ASHA workers are the backbone of the public health system and play a pivotal role in primary healthcare delivery. The ASHA workers expressed gratitude to the MLA for the support, stating that the equipment would greatly enhance their ability to serve the community more effectively.

Later, MLA Gulmarg reviewed various ongoing and proposed developmental works of Kunzer town, amounting to ₹2.00 crores. He directed the relevant departments to ensure high-quality standards and emphasised the importance of completing the work within the stipulated timelines for maximum public benefit.

In the evening, the MLA participated in Jashn-e-Wande, organised by the Department of Tourism, reaffirming his commitment to promoting cultural heritage, tourism and sustainable development in the Gulmarg constituency.
