Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection of key government offices in Jammu to assess their functioning and service delivery mechanisms.
The Minister visited the Transport Commissioner’s Office and the office of the Managing Director, J&K Road Transport Corporation (RTC), where he reviewed staff attendance, punctuality and the overall work culture. He interacted with officers and employees to take stock of public service delivery and emphasized the need for efficiency and accountability.
Satish Sharma also inspected the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Jammu, and reviewed the availability of public facilities, the pace of ongoing works and the quality of services being provided to citizens. He directed officials to ensure that the public faces no inconvenience and that all genuine grievances are addressed in a time-bound and transparent manner.
Later, the Minister visited the office of the Department of Science and Technology, Jammu, where he reviewed ongoing projects and the implementation of technology-driven initiatives. He stressed the need for greater adoption of innovation, digitisation and scientific solutions to improve governance, enhance service delivery and promote meaningful youth engagement across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister said that the government remains focused on making all departments more efficient, accountable and people-friendly, while simultaneously strengthening sports, youth empowerment, and science and technology as key pillars of sustainable development in the Union Territory.
