Kavinder shared personal memories of meeting Vajpayee ji on several occasions, particularly during the Emergency period when he endured nearly a year of incarceration. He highlighted Vajpayee ji’s magnetic charisma, which drew large audiences eager to hear his speeches, and praised his enduring poetry that continues to inspire people.

Observing that Vajpayee’s birthday coincides with Good Governance Day, Kavinder underscored how his Prime Ministerial tenure is remembered for initiating groundbreaking reforms. He said that Good Governance Day serves as a reminder of Vajpayee ji’s belief in accountable administration and last-mile delivery of development—a vision that continues to guide governance in Ladakh.

The Lt Governor emphasized that the UT Administration is committed to ensuring that government schemes and development initiatives reach remote and border villages. Highlighting governance reforms, he stressed the importance of transparency, digital governance, and efficient service delivery, noting that initiatives such as e-office and technology-driven administration are strengthening public service systems in Ladakh.

Kavinder reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to inclusive development, youth empowerment, preservation of cultural heritage, and the strengthening of public welfare systems across the region.

Sachin Bali, Under Secretary, JKAS, conducted the proceedings of the programme.

On the occasion, Lt Col BK Dash, OSD to HLG, Sahil Verma, Media Advisor, and officers and staff of the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat attended the programme.
