During the deliberations, the Minister reviewed the proposal for permanent restoration of the Sitlee Water Treatment Plant. He instructed the concerned authorities to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) at the earliest to facilitate the timely execution of the project.

To further augment the drinking water supply in Chaman Vihar and adjoining areas, the Minister directed to make the pumping water station be made fully operational within a week. He noted that once functional, the project would substantially alleviate water scarcity issues faced by the residents in the area.

Emphasising efficient utilisation of available resources, the Minister stressed that all development initiatives must translate into tangible benefits for the people on the ground. He also highlighted the need for expeditious completion of procedural and administrative formalities to ensure early implementation of approved projects.

Reviewing another significant intervention, the Minister discussed the construction of a sump tank at Kamdhenu. He said that the facility would address the drinking water concerns not only in Kamdhenu but also in the surrounding areas once it is completed.

The Minister also took note of the issues raised by MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta. He assured him that all genuine concerns pertaining to the drinking water supply would be examined and addressed on priority.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer, PHE, Superintending Engineers and other senior officers of the department.
