J&K Govt forms committee to finalize inputs for MHA on PM’s interaction with Secretaries

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday constituted a high-level committee to finalize inputs and comments for submission to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, on actionable points that emerged from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with Secretaries to the Government of India, held on October 6, 2025.

As per the order, the committee will be chaired by the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Planning Development and Monitoring Department.

The committee includes the Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, Commissioner/Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, Secretary, Revenue Department, and the Special Secretary, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, who will act as the Member Secretary.

According to the order, the committee has been tasked with examining and consolidating inputs from all departments on adopting a “Whole of the Government” approach for the implementation of initiatives, policies, and schemes that involve multiple ministries and departments, while keeping in view the larger national perspective.

The committee will also analyze and finalize departmental inputs on measures aimed at improving the Ease of Living for citizens, including sustained efforts towards the decriminalization of minor offences.

It will also assess gaps in achieving targets set for 2047 and finalize inputs related to the preparation of time-bound roadmaps to meet these long-term national goals.

The order further states that the committee will scrutinize, harmonize, and finalize all inputs and comments received from various departments on the actionable points discussed during the Prime Minister’s interaction, before forwarding them to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The committee will be serviced by the Planning Development and Monitoring Department, the order said.(KNS)
