Srinagar: Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered “huge quantity” of contraband substance from his possession.
At a checkpoint established at New Colony Keegam, police arrested Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, resident of Audoora Rampathri after his personal search yielded a cannabis-like substance weighing approximately 8.800 kgs.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian for investigation, police said.
