DC Bandipora launches IPPI-2025 at AAM Pazalpora

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, launched the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) Campaign-2025 at AAM Pazalpora on Sunday, marking the formal launch of the district-wide pulse polio drive.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered polio drops to children and emphasised the importance of achieving complete immunisation coverage, including in remote and hard-to-reach areas, to keep the district polio-free.

The Deputy Commissioner urged parents and community members to actively participate in the campaign. She highlighted the role of frontline health workers in reaching every household, especially in remote areas. She stressed coordinated efforts of health teams, supervisors and frontline workers for the successful implementation of the campaign.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Block Medical Officer Bandipora, along with other medical and paramedical staff, were present during the inauguration ceremony.

In addition, IPPI activities progressed smoothly across all three blocks of District Bandipora, including the snow-bound areas of Gurez. Vaccination teams were deployed at all 370 designated Pulse Polio booths, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Adequate manpower, vaccine logistics and supervisory arrangements remained in place throughout the district, including at eight transit booths, to facilitate the uninterrupted conduct of the campaign.
