Baramulla: A resident of Rafiabad was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, raising serious concerns and prompting police to initiate an investigation.
Sources said the deceased was working at a private residence in the Gousbug area of Pattan, where his body was later discovered. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
The deceased has been identified as Javaid Ahmed Mir, a resident of Khanmoh, Rafiabad. Family members alleged foul play, stating that they were informed about the death in the morning and immediately sought a thorough probe into the matter.
“Our family has strong doubts about the cause of death. We demand a fair and transparent investigation so that justice is ensured,” the family said.
Police officials confirmed that a team reached the spot soon after the incident came to light. Proceedings under law have been initiated, and investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of death.
