Srinagar: Income Tax Department, Srinagar, organised a tax awareness program at Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal today. Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Srinagar, Shakil Ahmad Ganie, IRS, addressed the gathering and emphasised on timely compliance and correct declaration of Income tax.
The importance of Income tax in national development was highlighted while also assuring the taxpayers of speedy grievance redressal and better awareness through more outreach programs.
The tax awareness program was attended by local Traders, including the office bearers of local trader and market associations.
During the interaction, various provisions of the Income Tax Act and the important changes were explained through a presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session.
The event was attended by the officers of various government departments also who were also briefed about the various provisions related to TDS and the related compliances. In the event the other officials of the income tax department, including Ajay Sangwan (Inspector) and Yogesh (Inspector TDS) were also present.
At the event, DCIT, Srinagar underscored the taxpayer-friendly approach of the department and assured the gathering that more such awareness programs will be conducted in the area.
