Baramulla: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, on Monday inaugurated a new sports showroom at Chandilora, emphasizing the importance of sports in building a healthy, disciplined, and progressive society.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shah said that sports play a crucial role not only in promoting physical fitness but also in strengthening mental resilience, character building, and teamwork among the youth.
He noted that the availability of quality sports equipment at the local level would motivate young people to take up sports more actively, help steer them away from negative influences, and provide a platform to nurture talent capable of bringing recognition to the region.
Later in the day, the MLA visited Wussan, Lalpora, Teran, Qazipura, Mirchipora, and Waripora to offer condolences to bereaved families. He expressed heartfelt sympathies with the grieving families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls, while wishing strength and patience to the families to bear the loss during this difficult time.
