Div Com reviews progress of operationlisation of 60 MLD STP for Srinagar city

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today reviewed the operationalisation of 60 MLD STP for Srinagar city and the progress of the tendering process for utilities shifting required to connect lane-level drainage with the sewerage system under the Greater Srinagar Sewerage Scheme (JnNURM).

The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineers of KPDCL, PWD; Superintending Engineers from PHE and UEED, Deputy Director Planning, and officers of NBCC.

During the review, the Divisional Commissioner stressed the need to expedite and complete the tendering process for utilities shifting related to the construction of connecting drainage portions of the UEED network. SE UEED assured the Chair that the process of connecting Households with the trunk line to the STP shall be completed by 5th January for optimal utilisation of the installed capacity.

The Div Com directed the concerned departments to ensure timely power connection to the Sewerage Treatment Plant at Noorbagh and to complete the outfall line.

He also instructed the concerned authorities to project bottlenecks affecting works in Alamgiri Bazar, Zadibal, and Habakadal for discussion in the forthcoming High-Level Committee meeting.
