Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal busted a drug racket by arresting two “notorious” drug peddlers and recovered narcotic substances.
In a well-coordinated operation, police at a checkpoint at Tengpora Dhobipora intercepted and apprehended Aqib Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, and Tasaduq Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, both residents of Guzerbal, Ganderbal, a police spokesperson informed.
He said their personal search yielded 1024 grams of ‘bhangpatri’ (Marijuana-like substance) and 58 grams of cannabis-like substance. Another bag weighing 780 grams of bhangpatri was also recovered from them.
A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal for further investigation, police said.
