Srinagar: A man died on Monday after allegedly jumping into the River Jhelum from Sonwar Bridge in Srinagar, officials said.
According to information, the man fell into the river near Jhula Bridge, Sonwar, triggering an immediate response from local people, who managed to pull him out of the water. He was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for medical treatment.
Hospital sources said the man, whose identity has not been established yet, was brought to the hospital where doctors declared the victim brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further details are awaited, including the identification of the deceased. (KNT)
