SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, today held an extensive public outreach session at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, during which various Legislators, public delegations, employee associations and individuals raised several issues of public importance before the Minister.
During the session, a delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee met the Minister and raised various issues of the teaching community. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Minister for the formation of the Committee regarding the framing of the transfer policy for ReTs.
Similarly, a delegation of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers met the Minister and sought regularisation for Rehbar-e-Khel teachers who have completed seven years of satisfactory service.
Likewise, a delegation of officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service met the Minister and raised various issues related to career progression before the Minister.
During the outreach session, several public delegations from different areas of Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam and other districts also met the Minister and raised various issues related to the health sector, education, essential supplies like drinking water availability, power, as well as ration availability in view of the ongoing winter months.
While interacting with these delegations, Minister Sakeena highlighted that this session is being held to review concerns of the general public, assess their developmental need and gather on-ground feedback from the public for improving governance delivery.
The Minister, while giving patient hearing to all delegations and individuals, assured them prompt redressal of genuine demands. She highlighted that the Government’s top priority is to ensure accessible, transparent and accountable governance. “Our doors are always open for the people. Effective governance is possible only by listening, understanding and acting on public concerns,” she stated.
The Minister further said that the Government led by Omar Abdullah remains committed to delivering good governance that reflects the aspirations of every section of society.
Meanwhile, MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi, MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar, MLA Lolab, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone and MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali also met the Minister and raised various issues pertaining to their Assembly Constituencies.
