KATHUA: Commissioner Secretary, Cooperative Department, Babila Rakwal, today visited the Grain Storage project at Ladwal, Rajbagh MPCS, Kathua, to review the progress on ongoing construction works there.

During the inspection, she assessed the status of the project and issued directions to the NBCC engineers to complete the construction within the stipulated timeframe.

She instructed the NBCC to submit weekly progress reports to the office to ensure continuous monitoring. She directed the field staff of the Cooperative Department to conduct daily inspections of the site to maintain quality standards and ensure timely completion.

In addition to the project review, the Commissioner Secretary also enquired about the functioning of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the district. Emphasising the importance of women’s participation in cooperatives, she directed the department to initiate and register women-based Cooperative Societies at the earliest.

Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Kathua, Shruti Sharma, briefed the Commissioner Secretary regarding the registration of a female-based cluster in Block Barnoti. She informed that four more such societies are currently in process in different blocks of the district.
