SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, today inaugurated a two-day capacity building programme on “Untie the yield complexities for realising the yield potential in oilseed with special reference to Rapeseed” at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi Srinagar
The workshop is organised by SKUAST-K in collaboration with Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department, Kashmir, underthe Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, Project no 11 “Promotion of Oilseeds”.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said the primary objective of such workshops is to train the concerned officers from different districts of the Kashmir division for efficient and successful implementation of the project “Promotion of Oilseeds Project” at grassroots level. He said the officers are provided with the solutions, streamlining procedures and preparation of strategies to identify and explore the potential of oilseed crops in different areas of the region.
Shah emphasised the importance of such a workshop in achieving the desired impact. He said the programme is designed to equip the officers with the necessary knowledge and expertise to successfully execute the “Promotion of Oilseed Project”.
The workshop would be a significant step towards empowering the concerned officers from different districts to contribute effectively to the goals of said project.
Experts from ADR, MRCPC Khudwani, SKUAST-K and the agriculture department presented their lectures during different sessions on day one of the workshop.
The programme was attended by the concerned officers from the district kupwara, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Budgam, Srinagar and Bandipora.
