Srinagar: Police in Sopore have solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that, acting on a complaint of theft at a residence in Model Town, the police, during investigation, rounded up several suspects.
One of the suspects, identified as Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Hamid Sheikh, resident of Model Town D, was questioned, and he admitted his involvement and also disclosed that part of the stolen property had been concealed at Cooperative Bagh Sopore, while some items had been sold to another individual.
Acting on this disclosure, police recovered the stolen items from the identified location. Further investigation led to the questioning of another suspect, identified as Waseem Nabi Wani, a resident of Model Town D, who admitted to having received stolen items from Shabir Ahmad Sheikh. Based on his disclosure, additional stolen property was recovered from his residence, police said.
