Sgr Admin mourns irreparable loss in Nowgam accidental blast

SRINAGAR: District Administration Srinagar on Monday convened a solemn condolence meeting here at DC Office to mourn the demise of nine lives, including Naib Tehsildar, Muzaffar Ahmad Khan and Suhail Ahmad Rather of the Revenue Department, who lost their lives in the Nowgam accidental blast on Friday evening while discharging their official duties.

A two-minute silence was observed to mourn the loss of 09 precious lives that included revenue officials, police personnel, an official of FSL & a civilian

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, other senior Officers and all employees of DC Office Srinagar participated in the condolence meeting to pay tribute to the departed souls.

On the occasion, the DC Srinagar and other participants expressed profound grief over the loss of lives. The DC acknowledged the integrity, professionalism and committed service of the departed officials. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and for strength & solace to the families enduring this heartbreaking grief.

Reaffirming the District administration’s support, the DC stated that the entire administration stands firmly in solidarity with the families during this difficult time and is committed to providing all possible support/assistance.

Meanwhile, the DC Srinagar on Saturday visited the families of Naib Tehsildar Muzaffar Ahmad Khan on Satuday in Soibugh, Budgam and Suhail Ahmad Rather in Natipora, Srinagar to offer condolences and share their grief.

The condolence meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aadil Fareed, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, District Social Welfare Officer, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, and other senior Officers and officials.
