Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have arrested an absconder who evaded arrest for a long time.
A police spokesperson was that it executed the non-bailable warrants under section 299 CrPC/335 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita issued by the Principal Session Court Pulwama against an absconder Sartaj Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, resident of Khrew. The absconder was involved in two cases registered at Police Station Pampore.
A special police team arrested the accused and produced him in the court.
