JAMMU: The Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 Trophy today reached Jammu as part of the Trophy Tour, and the city witnessed a wave of excitement and pride.

The iconic trophy was displayed at K.K. Hakku Stadium, filling the venue with the energy of aspiring athletes, sports lovers, and school students who gathered in large numbers to celebrate the spirit of Indian hockey.

The event was graced by Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Yasha Mudgal, as the Chief Guest.

Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, along with officials from the Hockey India Federation and J&K Hockey Association besides a large number of players were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner Secretary said, “The arrival of the Junior World Cup Trophy in Jammu marks a proud moment for all sports lovers of the region. Hockey has always stood as a symbol of India’s unity, resilience, and determination. Through this event, we aim to inspire our youth to embrace the sport with renewed passion and dedication. The J&K Government remains fully committed to extending every possible support for the growth of hockey and other sporting disciplines across the region, and the day is not far when our athletes will represent the country with pride and excellence.”

Secretary, J&K Sports Council, in her address, said, “J&K Sports Council, under the Youth Services and Sports Department, is committed to providing access to quality infrastructure, professional coaching, and exposure to aspiring athletes in every district. The Trophy Tour is not just a celebration of hockey’s heritage but also a reminder to our youth that with discipline and hard work, they too can reach the highest levels of sport.

The Trophy Tour, which will travel through 20 states of India, aims to celebrate the FIH Junior Men’s World Cup 2025, promote hockey awareness and participation across the nation, and inspire the younger generation to take pride in India’s glorious hockey legacy.

The dazzling trophy procession began from Hotel Radisson and moved through Jammu University Road before reaching K.K. Hakku Stadium, where an enthusiastic crowd awaited its arrival. The atmosphere was electric as young players waved flags, cheered, and took photographs with the World Cup trophy, expressing their excitement and pride in witnessing such a historic moment.

The vibrant atmosphere at K.K. Hakku Stadium reflected the growing passion for hockey among the youth and reaffirmed the region’s commitment to nurturing future champions.
