SRINAGAR: The Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir successfully organized the Second Edition of the “Kashmir Marathon 2025” at Srinagar on 2nd November 2025.

The event was aimed at promoting wellness, endurance, and sustainability while positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a leading sports and adventure tourism destination.

The Marathon witnessed an enthusiastic participation with over 3,000 registrations, including 153 on-spot registrations. Out of these, more than 1200 runners participated in the event, representing 27 States/Union Territories and 11 countries.

The Full Marathon (42 km) commenced at 6:15 a.m., followed by the Half Marathon (21 km) at 6:35 a.m. from Polo View Ground, Srinagar.

The event was flagged off by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the Lieutenant Governor graced the Award Ceremony held at Polo Ground, Srinagar, and felicitated the winners.

A prize pool of ₹ 3 Crore attracted participation from elite athletes and amateur runners, thereby establishing the Kashmir Marathon as one of the premier sporting events in the region.

As part of the event, a three-day Marathon Expo was organized from 30th October to 1st November, 2025 at the Indoor Stadium Grounds, Polo View, Srinagar, featuring registration facilities, bib distribution, and interactive sessions with national and international athletes.

The Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, expresses its sincere appreciation to all sponsors and partners whose valuable support contributed to the successful conduct of the event.

The Kashmir Marathon 2025 was supported by J&K Bank, Coal India, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Excise Department J&K, NTPC, NHPC, MEIL, REC India, Radisson Collection, Ramada Encore Rajbagh, PepsiCo, Gatorade, Bisleri, Paras Health, JK/SAIFCO Cements, RiteBite Max Protein, and Enerzal.

The Department reiterates its commitment to promoting Jammu and Kashmir as a global destination for wellness, sports, and sustainable tourism
