Srinagar: Police have arrested five drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said three persons — Raiees Ahmad Sheikh, Prince Ahmad Mir, both residents of Chandhara; Manzoor Khan of Drangbal Pampore – were arrested at Chandhara Nambal, after 8.9 kilograms of cannabis powder was recovered from their possession.
At Okhoo Kakapora in Pulwama, one Abdul Majeed Wani of Nihama was arrested and 2.765 kilograms of ‘bang boosa’-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In Shopian, at Maldera Zainapora, police seized a vehicle (JK18-6181) and arrested its driver Umar Maqbool Parra of Humhona Nagbal Zainapora, after 1.3 kgs of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the vehicle.
