During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner took a detailed review of the improvements witnessed in downtown areas following the implementation of one-way traffic plans on several routes. It was informed that the initiative has yielded positive results by significantly reducing traffic congestion.

The committee also discussed the introduction of colour-coded passes for mini-buses to restrict them from operating beyond their designated zones.

Further, the meeting proposed declaring MA Road as a “No E-Rickshaw Zone” from Jahangir Chowk to Dalgate, while allowing their movement only through Residency Road. It was also decided to impose a cap on the number of E-Rickshaws operating on saturated routes to prevent further congestion.

The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on the Smart Parking Management System, being developed at three key locations in the city, as well as the establishment of E-Rickshaw charging stations at Hazratbal, Zoonimar, and Batamaloo.

Discussions were also held on the development of surface parking facilities at JVC, Children’s Hospital, Karan Nagar, Sanatnagar, Batamaloo, and Harwan.

Several other issues including HLC matters, SSCL projects, and concerns related to the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) were also deliberated upon. The Divisional Commissioner issued specific directions to concerned departments for timely action and resolution.
