During the meeting, the Chief Secretary apprised the Lt Governor of the series of programmes planned to mark these two significant occasions — the Foundation Day of the Union Territory and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and architect of national unity.

As part of the celebrations, a ‘Run for Unity’ will be organised from Raj Niwas, which the Lt Governor will flag off. The event will see enthusiastic participation from students, NCC cadets, and government officials, symbolising collective commitment to the spirit of unity and integrity that Sardar Patel epitomised.

The DGP apprised the Lt Governor that the Ladakh Police will host a special event at the District Police Lines, where the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge will be administered to participants, reaffirming dedication to national integration and harmony.

The Lt Governor reviewed the arrangements being made by various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the events. He emphasised active participation from Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Directors, and other senior officers in the celebrations.

The Lt Governor also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Leh, to prepare a list of prominent citizens of Ladakh and ensure their presence and engagement in the Foundation Day and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas events.
