KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdowns, cancels earlier plans

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer of Distribution at KPDCL has announced upcoming power shutdowns in several parts of the region due to maintenance work on transmission lines and grid stations.

In the Pulwama district, the 33 KV Pampore-Pulwama line will undergo maintenance, resulting in a temporary suspension of power at the receiving stations in Newa, Kakapora, and the LIS Marvel stages. Consequently, neighborhoods including Kakapora, Pahoo, Nehama, Kakapora Railway, Newa, Gadoora, Zadoora, Parigam, Narbal, and surrounding areas will experience a scheduled outage over the coming days.

In Srinagar, work on the 132 KV Grid Substation at Rawalpora will impact multiple receiving stations, including Rawalpora, Chanapora, Peerbagh, Bones and Joint Hospital, Bagh-i-Mehtab, B.K Pora, Khanda, Wanbal, Doodganga, Rangreth, JKLAI, BEACON, FIL Industries, RASU, and the Airforce station. Areas served by these stations, spanning from Rawalpora to Airforce neighborhoods and adjacent localities, will see power interruptions while maintenance is carried out.

Shopian district will also experience temporary outages as work proceeds on the 132/33 KV Grid Station. Communities in Keller, Pinjura, Batpura, Agalar, and nearby areas will have their power supply suspended during the maintenance window.

In the northern region, transmission line work affecting the Pattan-Delina, Amargarh-Sheeri, and Pattan-Magam lines, along with the Grid Substation in Magam, will result in outages at receiving stations such as Magam, Mazhama, Kongamdara, Ahmedpora, Dhobiwan, Kunzar, Aripanthan, Khag, Beerwah, and Arizal. Residents in these communities and adjoining areas are advised to make necessary arrangements.

Further maintenance on the Amargarh-Arampora transmission lines will affect a wide network of receiving stations, including Sopore, Handwara, Kupwara, and surrounding localities. Residents of areas such as DIC, Sangrama, Sopore I and II, Railway, Delina, Juice Factory, Jetty, Sidiq Colony, Ladoora LIS, Chakloo, MID Tragpora, Rohama, Hadipora, Watergam, Hachipora, Safalpora, Ganapora, Nowpora, Achabal, Sellu, Behrampora, Bomai, Nutnussa, Chogal, Army Camp, Mill, Handwara Town and Old, Pohrupeth, Tikker, Galizoo, Dragmulla, DC residence, Khumriyal, Lolab, Krusen, Lassipora Sogam, Divar, Z-Gali, Machil, and surrounding areas will be impacted during the scheduled maintenance hours.

Additionally, work on the Arampora-Vilgam transmission line and related grid substations will necessitate temporary suspension of electricity to a large network of receiving stations, including Nutnussa, Chogal, Army Camp, Mill, Handwara Town and Old, Kupwara Hotline, MES, Pohrupeth, Tikker, Galizoo, Dragmulla, DC residence, Khumriyal, Lolab, Krusen, Lassipora Sogam, Divar, Z-Gali, Machil, Dolipora, Magam Handwara, Karihama, Trehgam, Hyhama, Kralpora, Patru, Kundiyan, Kerran, Panzgam, Tarathpora, Tangdar, Teetwal, and nearby neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, KPDCL has cancelled previously approved shutdowns affecting several 33 KV Bemina lines, including those running through Barbarshah, Fatehkadal, KP Bagh, Exhibition, JVC, I & I, and Karan Nagar. Residents in these areas can expect uninterrupted power supply as these planned outages will no longer take place.
