 Dr Farooq felicitates NC’s newly elected RS Members

Urges them to champion J&K’s interests

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Saturday felicitated the party’s successful Rajya Sabha candidates Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Shammi Oberoi at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

Among those present on the occasion were senior party leaders, including Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo, Advisor to the HCM Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Women’s Wing State President Shameema Firdous, MLAs Salman Ali Sagar, Ahsan Pardesi, Mushtaq Guroo, Provincial President Kashmir Showkat Ahmad Mir, Convenor Minority Wing Sardar J.S. Azad, YNC President Kashmir Mir Mushtaq, besides functionaries of the Youth, Women’s, Media, Social Media, and Minority Wings, and several party legislators from Central and South Kashmir.

In his address, Dr. Farooq Abdullah congratulated the newly elected members and urged them to work with dedication and sincerity to highlight the issues concerning the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the need to strengthen the party’s ongoing efforts for the restoration of the abridged rights of the people and to uphold the region’s political, economic, and constitutional interests.

“Our representatives in the Rajya Sabha must serve as the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that their aspirations and concerns are heard and addressed at the national level,” Dr. Abdullah said.

On the occasion, the newly elected members Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Shammi Oberoi expressed gratitude to the party leadership for reposing faith in them. They pledged to represent the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to further the party’s mission of justice, development, and dignity.

Earlier, the Rajya Sabha members called on Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his residence in Srinagar. During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah felicitated them and expressed confidence that their presence in the Upper House would help strengthen the rightful place of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the House of States.
