Dr Farooq, Omar extend Diwali greetings to people

Srinagar: On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country, wishing for peace, prosperity, and strengthened communal harmony.

National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, in his message, said, “I hope the day increases the prospects of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir in particular, and the rest of the country in general. I wish people a very happy Diwali, hoping they will celebrate their happiness with those who are economically challenged.”

Vice President of the Party and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also greeted the people and emphasised the importance of unity and brotherhood, stating,

“May this Diwali strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and communal harmony in J&K. I wish people a very Happy Diwali, hoping that the day augurs well for everlasting peace and prosperity in J&K.”

Meanwhile, Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq have also conveyed their Diwali greetings to the people.

The National Conference leadership has urged the people to celebrate the festival with the spirit of inclusiveness and compassion, and to extend the joy of the occasion to all sections of society.
