Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said in Kulgam, at a checkpoint established at Kanjikullah, police arrested two persons riding a motorcycle (JK13J-7576) after six grams of heroin-like substance and cash of Rs 15,720 (“believed to be proceeds of narcotics”) was recovered from their possession.
They have been identified as Faizan Ahmad Dar, son of Nafees Ahmad Dar of Brazloo, and Sheeraz Ahmad Lone @ Sher Khan resident of Tungdanoo.
In Awantipora, at a checkpoint at Ladhoo Batpora Crossing, one Tanveer Ahmad Mochi, son of Manzoor Ahmad Mochi of Ladhoo was arrested after 3.10 Kgs of grinded cannabis was recovered from his possession, police said.
